Now that I’ve finished the essay I’m swiftly moving onto the modelling and rigging of my man-bat character as well as the few environment assets that I’ll need, including torches, a lantern and a basement for the scene to take place in.
Before starting the modelling I’ve been trying out the various Maya tools such as nCloth and nHair. Using nCloth I’ve been testing out making a wing material for my character that reacts to physics and can have its values changed to make more tight/loose. Using nCloth I can reduce the time needed doing skin weights and animating the wings but with improved realism.
For nHair I’ve only watched a few tutorials and still need to fully plan out how I’m going to use it.
